Certified Medication Aide (CMA) — Per Diem

Role overview

Per-diem CMA / Med Aide roles at assisted living and nursing home partners in Nassau County. Support medication passes under RN supervision.

Key responsibilities

  • Administer routine medications per MAR and facility protocols.
  • Observe and report resident responses to medications.
  • Maintain accurate medication documentation and controlled substance counts as required.
  • Assist with resident care tasks between medication rounds.
  • Communicate with RN supervisor regarding refusals, errors, or adverse reactions.

Qualifications & requirements

  • NYS certification as Medication Aide or equivalent credential.
  • Active CNA certification often required by partner facilities.
  • Minimum six months medication aide experience.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits.
  • BLS preferred.
